Method
1. In a large saucepan, heat the oil
over low heat. When the onion is tender, add it, cover, and simmer for ten
minutes.
2. Chop the chicken into small pieces and transfer it to a bowl. Add the salt,
lemon juice, garam masala, and chilli powder. To coat, thoroughly stir.
3. Run cold water over the rice many times until the water runs clear. Cook the
onion with the garlic and ginger for two minutes. Then, add the chicken pieces
and cook, stirring constantly, for an additional two minutes.
4. Stir thoroughly after adding the rice and boiling stock to the pan, then
bring it to a boil. Place a tight-fitting cover on top, turn down the heat a
little, and cook for five minutes. Cut the heat off.
