Fresh Berry Lemonade

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb.

strawberries

  • 1 c.

sugar

  • 2 c.

Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • 1 1/3 c.

fresh lemon juice

·         Sliced strawberries and lemons, for serving

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Combine strawberries, sugar, and two cups of water in a big pot. Stir to dissolve sugar and bring to a boil.
2. STEP 2: Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the berries become pale and the juice turns red. Remove any foam that has risen to the surface by skimming it off.
Step 3: Allow syrup to cool in saucepan for one hour. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer and allow to cool fully (throw out or store the berries for later). Keep chilled for up to two weeks in an airtight container.
