Drinks to Enjoy on a Hot Day
Offer refreshing non-alcoholic drink
options to your visitors to help them beat the summer heat. Making a handmade
summer drink is a terrific way to bring everyone together, including
individuals in recovery and youngsters. Fruit-filled punches and inventive
variations on traditional lemonade recipes are some of our cool summertime
beverages. They are great with a refreshing pool dip or a delicious supper that
is fresh off the grill.
Fresh Berry
Lemonade
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb.
strawberries
- 1 c.
sugar
- 2 c.
Strawberry Simple Syrup
- 1 1/3 c.
fresh lemon juice

Sliced strawberries and lemons, for
serving
DIRECTIONS
Step 1: Combine strawberries, sugar,
and two cups of water in a big pot. Stir to dissolve sugar and bring to a boil.
2. STEP 2: Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the berries become
pale and the juice turns red. Remove any foam that has risen to the surface by
skimming it off.
Step 3: Allow syrup to cool in saucepan for one hour. Pour through a fine-mesh
strainer and allow to cool fully (throw out or store the berries for later).
Keep chilled for up to two weeks in an airtight container.
