This rice with coconut is really amazing! I made numerous attempts to replicate my best resaurant'Asian cococonut rice subsequent to their closure. If desired, garnish with chopped cilantro and toasted coconut.

How to Make Coconut Rice

The recipe is below, along with a thorough ingredient list and step-by-step instructions, but first, let's review the fundamentals:  


 coconut milk: A can of coconut milk is the first ingredient in this decadent coconut rice recipe.


Water: One and a half cups are required. 


Sugar: To add sweetness, use two teaspoons of sugar.


One and a half tablespoons of salt improves the flavor of the coconut rice as a whole. 


Use jasmine rice when making this recipe. 


Coconut oil: For extra flavor, stir in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil towards the end.

 

 Ingredients

1 ½ cups uncooked jasmine rice


1 (14 ounce) can light or full-fat coconut milk, well shaken and stirred


1 ¼ cups water


2 teaspoons sugar


1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt

After placing the rice in a fine-mesh strainer, rinse it with cold water while agitating it with your fingers to get rid of any leftover starch. This should take about a minute, or until the water runs clear.

In a medium saucepan, combine rinsed rice, coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt; stir until sugar melts, about 1 minute.

Over medium heat, bring ingredients in saucepan to a boil. After covering, lower the heat to low and simmer for 11 minutes without stirring.

 Over medium heat, bring ingredients in saucepan to a boil. After covering, lower the heat to low and simmer for 11 minutes without stirring. Turn off the heat and steam the rice for about ten minutes, covered, or until it is soft and the liquid is absorbed. Once exposed, mix in the coconut oil with care and serve.
